FAQ's

  1. Do you Haul away the existing flooring? Yes, with a fee.
  2. Do I have to move my furniture? No, but a few things to prepare for us to move the furniture would be, empty anything inside or on top of furniture. Dexter’s will move the empty shell of the furniture from one side, install and move back. We do not move electronics, glass, cords, cables, knick-knacks, fish tanks, water beds, gun cabinets, pool tables, grandfather clocks, pianos or origins.
  3. Does a Moisture Vapor Barrier go on top of a wood Subfloor? No, Moisture Barrier is only required on top of a concrete subfloor.
  4. Am I able to stay in the house while work is being done? Absolutely! Dexter’s works with and around our customer’s.
  5. What is the best way to clean my floors? We recommend warm soapy water used with a mop.
  6. How long will this job take? Depending on the size of the job will depend on the length of time we will need to be in your home. Arrival and completion times are only a guide. Many circumstances during the day can cause our crews to run ahead or behind schedule.

Carpet FAQ’s:
  1. Will I see a seam in the carpet? We guarantee professionally constructed durable seams. Professional constructed seams are not invisible seams. There are many factors affecting whether a seam will be invisible included but not limited to the type and amount of natural or artificial lighting in the room, the thickness, construction and color of the carpet.

Hardwood FAQ’S:
  1. Does my hardwood material need to acclimate before installing? Yes it does! A rule of thumb is to acclimate wood floor products for at least three days. When acclimating you need to reach an equilibrium between the moisture content of the wood and the air where the product is being installed.
  2. Can I walk on the hardwood floors once installed? We recommend waiting 24 hours.

Flooring Demolition FAQ’S:
  1. How do I prepare my house for a demo?
  2. How can you keep my house dust free during a demo? As “dust free” isn’t a term we use, keeping the dust to a minimum is our goal. We will cover all the stationary items in your home, plastic off doorways, and use filtered vacuums. We recommend you turn off your air, and change your filter once we are finished.
